CM uses direct operator connection into Mexico

Mexico shows a significant growth if it comes to mobile messaging. Therefore CM is now using a direct operator connection for SMS and Voice traffic into Mexico.

Direct operator connections maximize delivery rates and speed up delivery of messages. Operators in Mexico rarely send DLR’s for SMS messages. Hence direct operator connection is even more important.

Number formatting for Mexico

SMS number formatting for Mexico requires special attention. The ‘1’ after the country code ‘52’ in numbers whose length is 13 is not accepted by all Mexican operators. For SMS messages the ‘1’ should be removed before sending SMS batches using Mexican connections. However, when voice calling internationally to a Mexican cell phone, the ‘1’ is added after country code 52.

For voice calls to a Mexican cell phone the number is: +521667xxxxxxx

For SMS to a Mexican cell phone the number is: +52667xxxxxxx
