Festivals are increasingly embracing innovative technology. This has been the case for some time now with tickets, which no longer needs to be printed, but can be scanned on arrival using a smartphone. The payment process is also in an innovation spurt. With Mobile Order, CM.com completely moves the order and checkout process to the mobile phone. Festival visitors do not have to download a separate app, but can activate Mobile Order in the Lowlands app within a few minutes.
Merging technology and festival
Jeroen van Glabbeek, CEO of CM.com, is enthusiastic about the pilot: "Lowlands is a perfect opportunity to introduce festival visitors to an entirely new festival experience. By working together with Mojo, a festival organisation up to the core, we can merge technology with the festival world. And this is just a small part of how the festival experience can be improved. With this pilot we simplify the ordering process and integrate payment into the Lowlands app, but this is also possible for ticket sales, communication, merchandise sales, and all other aspects that make a festival so much fun."
From a different perspective
Mojo has researched many existing payment methods for the previous Lowlands editions. Eric van Eerdenburg, Director of Lowlands, explains: "Not a single payment solution met our requirements of reliability, ease of use and financial security. CM.com presented a solution with a totally different approach to us. CM.com brings the ease of payment to our own app instead of another app, or payment terminal, and thus directly to the visitors. No queues at the cash registers, but ordering when and where you want, and picking up the order using the QR code. The system also remains operational in the event of PIN or internet failures. It doesn't get any more relaxed for the visitor, but also for us as an organiser."
Mobile Order can be found in the main menu of the official Lowlands app and will be activated approximately one week prior to Lowlands. From that moment on, visitors can register for use. During the festival visitors can also decide to use Mobile Order.
Lowlands pays your bill
Lowlands wants to encourage as many visitors as possible to test Mobile Order. That's why the festival organisation launched the 'Lowlands pays your bill' competition. Ten festival visitors who place their orders via Mobile Order not only benefit from the ease of payment, but also automatically have the chance to receive their entire Mobile Order account as a gift from Lowlands.
