From the beginning of July until the end of August 2020, artists such as Typhoon, Paul de Leeuw and Lil Kleine performed at “De Tuin” in Brielle. At “Het Strand” on Texel, there were appearances by Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, Nicky Romero and Fedde Le Grand. CM.com provided technical support to allow people to enjoy the performances without contact.
How do you organise more than 200 performances over 55 days, with space for up to 120 to 140 people per performance without health risks and in full compliance with government guidelines? And how do you also ensure that your visitors feel as safe as possible and can enjoy the performances undisturbed? Our experience in the events industry and with solutions for mobile ordering and payment meant this was a challenge we were happy to take on.
Use chatbots to check in
Whether someone’s having a drink in their favourite pub, having dinner with friends, or going to a performance, a health check beforehand is essential. Using our chatbot, we could quickly ask visitors to “De Tuin en Het Strand van 2020” a number of questions to determine whether or not they were healthy. That meant no queues at the entrance and no extra measures required for the organisation to be able to let visitors in.
Order snacks and drinks with your mobile phone via Mobile Order
Once inside, the afternoon or evening’s entertainment could begin. The performances in “De Tuin” and on “Het Strand” took place in special theatres, where visitors had their own private tables and could scan a QR code at their table with a mobile phone to be directed to the online order page of “De Tuin” or “Het Strand”. From there, they could select their order, add their table number and pay directly online via iDEAL or choose to pay afterwards. Once complete, the staff delivered the order directly to the table.
Advantages for the event organizer?
Mobile Order delivers a host of benefits for event organisers. The entire ordering and payment process is taken care of, allowing you to deploy your staff efficiently and reduce personnel costs. Without the queues at the bar, the staff have time to focus on preparing orders and visitors can make their choices and be served more quickly as they no longer have to wait for staff to take their order. Payment also takes place on the visitor's mobile, so you don't need an expensive, inflexible EPOS system, or the need to hold as much cash on the premises. Finally, staff and customer contact points are reduced, allowing you to serve visitors quickly and safely.
And visitors benefit too. Wait times are reduced, they can order and pay directly from their table via mobile phone, and the only contact they have with your staff is when they serve the snacks and drinks they ordered. It’s safe and fast, so it’s a win-win for both parties.
