19. Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix
The Dutch Grand Prix is returning to the Netherlands in 2020. As an event supporter of the Formula 1 Heineken Dutch Grand Prix, CM.com had the opportunity to introduce a whole new way of Ticketing. With an enormous interest in the 100.000+ available tickets, the Dutch Grand Prix worked with pre-registration: from day tickets for next year, to 3-day passe-partouts for the next 3 years. No surprise, tickets were sold out in no time!
18. Partnership with Google for Verified SMS
CM.com partners with Google for Google's new SMS security solution: Verified SMS, as was announced in a press release in December. With this verification method, businesses can eliminate or reduce number spoofing and abuse of their company brand. Jeroen van Glabbeek: “As a party that focuses on Conversational Commerce, a solution like Verified SMS cannot be missing from our offer. It enables trustworthy connections between businesses and consumers”
17. WhatsApp Business
Early 2019, the WhatsApp Business API became available via CM.com, Authorized Distributor of the WhatsApp Business solution. With over 1.5 billion WhatsApp users in 180 countries, the WhatsApp Business solution now opens up a world of opportunities for companies to communicate with their customers, reduce pressure on customer service and minimize friction on the path to purchase. And you can now turn to CM.com to be part of it!
16. Apple Messages for Business
But that’s not all! This year, we also added Apple Messages for Business to our Conversational Commerce offering. Apple Messages for Business offers a powerful, engaging new way for businesses to connect with their customers wherever they are and when they want using the Messages app on Apple devices. Businesses that use CM.com, can easily sign up to try Apple Messages for Business beta.
15. CM Campus
Last year, we kicked off the expansion of our HQ into CM Campus. This year, we opened our third (!) building. Want to see the result for yourself? Come visit us at CM Inspires coming January. 😉 Together with our new Dubai office, our Barcelona office, and our Singapore office (read more at #4), this makes a total of 15 offices for CM.com around the world.
14. Customer Success Stories
The best way to demonstrate the power of the CM.com platform? Showing how our customers – both big and smaller brands – use our messaging, payments and ticketing solutions to improve their marketing, sales or service. Just like last year, CM.com attended Web Summit in Lisbon with tons of demos on our Conversational Commerce platform. WebSummit is an annual tech conference that has grown to become the biggest European technology conference and the largest tech innovation marketplace in the world.
12. CM Summer Week
In September of 2019, we organized the very first CM Summer Week. A week to meet up with colleagues from all over the world, who were flown in for a jam-packed week of activities in and around CM Campus. Our customers were invited on Campus for a new edition of CM Inspires, followed by the CM Food Truck Festival. The surprise act of the Vengaboys made this a week to remember!
11. Collaboration with the BMW Group
Just before Christmas, CM.com announced its collaboration with the BMW Group. CM.com will provide the infrastructure for sending automated SMS messages as part of the car manufacturer's ConnectedDrive services globally. Jeroen van Glabbeek: "With this use case and service we show that we are ready to handle international IoT/M2M SMS traffic, which will be a fast growing market in the future alongside standard A2P services, and we expect to attract more companies in the IoT industry".
10. MWC 2019
Mobile World Congress Barcelona is the largest mobile event in the world, bringing together the latest innovations and leading-edge technology from more than 2,400 leading companies, with a highly-rated conference program assembling today’s visionaries to explore the hottest topics influencing the industry. The main mobile trend was, without a doubt, Conversational Commerce.
9. CM Academy
Sharing knowledge is crucial for growth. Therefore, we introduced the CM Academy this year. From product training to personal development, and from skill training to fun courses. External speakers and CM colleagues took the stage to share their wisdom. These regular trainings will continue in 2020!
8. NAC Ticketing
At the beginning of 2019, Premier league soccer club NAC Breda opened a new online ticket shop. In cooperation with CM.com, NAC Breda has been busy working on the renewal of NACtickets.nl. With the launch of the new digital ticketing environment, NAC Breda is taking the next step towards optimising their online service to their fans and supporters.
7. Global coverage
We highlighted a couple of events in this article, but in total, we attended events around the world on almost a monthly basis, taking the stage at the most leading events in our industry. We also hosted our very first CM.com Golf Day in South Africa. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our dedicated colleagues who flew across the globe, to demonstrate Conversational Commerce.

6. Cordaid: Charity fundraising
We are proud to have been part of the Cordaid campaign with a completely new way of fundraising. By deploying Conversation Commerce, in this case, the smart combination of SMS, mobile payments via iDEAL, and a chatbot for opt-ins, we made it easier for the consumer to make a donation. Accessible, safe and, above all, more successful. That is not just good news for Cordaid, but also for more than 15,000 girls in the world’s poorest countries who are now able to go to school.
5. Dutch Cancer Society (KWF)
During collection week for the Dutch Cancer Society, 80,000 collectors throughout the Netherlands were committed to raising as much money as possible for the fight against cancer. The Dutch Cancer Society (DCS) makes donation as easy as possible with QR codes to make a donation to this charity. Collectors added a personalized QR code on the collection box. By scanning this code, donors entered a secure payment environment where they could adjust the pre-filled amount.
4. Opening Singapore office
Hot of the press: In December, we announced the opening of a regional office for Southeast Asia in Singapore, to cater to customers in Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, and Indonesia. From the Singapore hub, CM.com will be able to focus on servicing both new and existing regional customers and partners more efficiently, and ensure that these companies are able to develop their Conversational Commerce channels with the support of the hub team.
3. Lowlands: Mobile Order
During the 27th edition of music festival Lowlands, organizer Mojo Concerts B.V. and CM.com introduced a new way of paying for festival visitors called Mobile Order. With CM.com's Mobile Order, visitors can order drinks and food via the Lowlands app. Eric van Eerdenburg, Director of Lowlands: “CM.com brings the ease of payment to our app and thus directly to the visitors. No queues at the cash registers, but ordering where you want whenever you want, and then picking up the order using a QR code. It hardly gets any easier for the visitor, but also for us as an organizer.”
2. CM Inspires
On Thursday, 19 September the annual edition of CM Inspires took place. Speakers from Albert Heijn to go, Fit For Free and The Tosti Club entered the stage and gave a glimpse of their innovative applications for an optimal customer journey. With a huge turn-out, we’re already looking forward to our next edition of CM Inspires. Will you join us at our CM HQ in the Netherlands on January 22nd?
For the eighth’ consecutive year, CM.com has been awarded Best Managed Company by Deloitte! Businesses are assessed with the Business Maturity Model, developed by Deloitte in cooperation with Utrecht University. The matrix examines all important aspects of how the business is organized, internally as well as externally.
Also, Emerce listed CM.com as one of the best e-business companies in 2019. Jeroen van Glabbeek, CEO: "It's a nice compliment for us to get awarded with 5 stars. It shows that our innovative approach is appreciated." The Emerce 100 is an annual publication that describes how decision-makers in the field of online marketing, ICT and e-business, have assessed the performance of service providers around e-business and marketing in the past year.
