Server-Side Transaction Tracking

Transaction tracking

By Google Analytics and Facebook via ‘Thank you pages’ using client-side events is not accurate.

Thank you pages are not accurate

By default transactions are tracked via ‘Thank you pages’

Unfortunately this method, using client-side events, is not accurate when:

  1. Open the “Thank You” page in their default browser

  2. Thank you page is closed before purchase event is sent

  3. Visitors don’t return to the Thank you page

Cookieless data collection

Default and in-app Safari browsers are seen as two browsers

When visitors initiate a purchase in the Facebook or Instagram app, they do this in an in-app browser.

  1. There is no stitch between the in-app and default Safari browser

  2. After payment, the visitor is redirected to the default browser

  3. This results in them being analyzed as a new visitor

  4. Result: The purchase will be attributed to the “Thank You” page

TraceDock server-side transaction events

Plug-and-play implementation

Tying the transaction to the right sessi

TraceDock matches and connects transaction data with the session data, resulting in correct session based attribution in Google Analytics and Facebook.

Plug-and-play, no coding required

Within the TraceDock portal, you can select predefined Measurement Protocol templates, already correctly formatted and extendible towards your wishes.

De-duplication service

Some payment providers tend to send through transaction events twice. TraceDock makes sure that the transaction event is sent only once, so no double revenue in your Google Analytics.

Shadow testing during trial period

You can continue sending e-commerce events while testing TraceDock Transaction Tracking via regular events. Testing without a hard switch to validate the setup and ease the transition.
