Two ballots | One entry. Everything about the TTOM 2027 ballot process explained

To make the entry process fairer and provide more runners with the opportunity to participate in the Totalsports TWO OCEANS MARATHON powered by BYD, a revised ballot system has been introduced for 2027. Next year's runners may choose to enter the Ultra Marathon, the Half Marathon, or both ballots.

 

Indicate your preferred event if entering both draws

If entering both ballots or draws, as an entry applicant, you will be asked to indicate your preferred event. If you are successful in both draws, you will be allocated one entry only: an entry into your preferred event.  

By when must you put yourself into the draw?

  • The ballot for both the Half and Ultra will be open from 5 − 16 August.
  • Both successful and unsuccessful applicants will be notified on 18 August.
  • The payment window will run from 18 − 31 August. 

What if you want an entry to both events? You can!

1. You have the opportunity to do so by buying one of a limited number of TOMI entries at a premium fee, available from 3 August on a first-come, first-served basis.
2. You have a second chance to do so by purchasing a Charity entry. Charity Entries will become available from October.

 

The ballot does not apply to the Trail Runs, IFR or Night Run

Importantly, this ballot process applies only to the Ultra and Half Marathon events. Entries for the Trail Runs, International Friendship Run, and the Night Run remain available on a first-come, first-served basis from 3 August.

 

So, not only can you enter both the Ultra and the Half − there’s absolutely nothing stopping you from adding the Night Run, Trail Run, or IFR to your ultimate running lineup! 🎉
