SIP Trunking - Regulations The Netherlands (+31)

Goal

Share information with regards to the rules and regulations of routing voice traffic within The Netherlands

Product

  • Voice

Steps

For The Netherlands (+31) the following rules & regulations apply:

  • Geographical telephone numbers are bound at network connection points in the area code associated with the number (e.g. 076 – Breda area).

  • It is also possible to use these numbers outside the area code area, if the subscriber has a place of residence or place of business ("binding") in the area code area associated with the number.

  • Number holders are responsible for correct number use.

  • A telecom provider must therefore (as the number holder of a geographical number series) ensure that a subscriber to whom a geographical number is used or who keeps the number through porting actually has a connection with the area code area.

  • This responsibility for the number holder also applies if he gives the numbers assigned to him to another provider
