How to add blockades in a venue

The blockade feature allows you to block seats without creating a reservation on them. By placing a blockade on a seat, you ensure that the seat is not available for sale. Additionally, no order and/or barcode are generated.

Some examples of using this feature include reserving seats for sponsors without issuing tickets or not offering limited view seats for sale.

Blockades can be created from the Seated Ticketing dashboard. You can give each blockade a name, label, and color. The label and color will be visible in the seat map in the dashboard, making it easy to identify the blocked seats.

It's worth noting that the colors and labels are only visible in the dashboard and not in the ticket shop. Here, the color of the seat, like with a reservation or purchased ticket, will be gray and non-clickable.

The image below shows how a section might look in the dashboard after adding blocks:

How do I create a blockade?

Follow these steps to start creating blockades:

  1. First, create a blockade by navigating to Settings -> Blockades.
  2. Click on Create blockade and fill in all the necessary information.
    • Note: The label can contain a maximum of 3 characters.
  3. Navigate to Events and select the section where you want to add a blockade.
  4. Click on the blockade you want to use and then drag the mouse over the seats you want to block.
  5. Once you're done blocking, you can save the blockade at the bottom of the page.
    • You can work in multiple sections simultaneously and save later.
    • When saving the blockade, you can save it directly for multiple events linked to the same venue. Select all the events where you want to add the blockade.
  6. If you want to remove blockades, you can do so in the same way as in step 5. Select the relevant blockade and drag the mouse over the seats. You'll see the blockade disappear. After removing all blockades, click save. Once again, you can choose for which events you want to remove the blockades.

Additional notes on blockades:

  • You can still use a blocked seat in combination with a completed order or reservation. This applies, for example, when you want to block some seats for a sponsor but haven't finalized pricing agreements or exact capacity, or when you prefer to easily recognize a particular sponsor/partner using colors in the section.
  • The number currently displayed after the section indicates the available capacity of the section. At the moment, the blocked seats are not deducted from the capacity, only the completed and reserved seats are.
  • When you remove a blockade in Settings -> Blockades, all seats blocked under that blockade will be removed.
