How to export data

The exports page is a dedicated section within the CDP that allows you to manage and monitor your data exports. It provides a user-friendly interface to initiate, track, and retrieve exported data.

Exporting data is a asynchronous process. Once you initiate an export, a background process will collect all the requested data and securely stores it in a storage bucket. You can access and download the file whenever you're ready.

To simplify your experience, the export page is divided into several subsections.

  1. Ready to Download: This section contains all your active files that are ready for immediate downloading. Simply locate your desired export here.

Your exported files will be securely stored for a period of 7 days. After this duration, the files will be considered expired and will be moved to the archived area, where you can find a log record of them for visibility purposes.
  2. Queued Exports: You can have a maximum of 5 exports running simultaneously. To ensure smooth operation, we limit the number of concurrent exports to 5 per account, this helps maintain the efficiency of the export process. Any additional exports beyond this limit will be placed in a queue. Rest assured, they will be processed as soon as possible.

You can have up to 25 exports at any given time. Should you need to initiate a 26th export, simply delete one of the older exports first.

  3. Expired & deleted Exports: This section holds your expired and deleted exports. If you need to refer back to any of these, you can easily access them by clicking the "hide" button. You can even restart an export from here.
  4. Failed exports: In the rare event that an export fails due to unforeseen reasons you can easily locate these unsuccessful exports by clicking on the "Failed Export" button. It's important to note that these failed exports will not be counted towards your maximum limit of 25 exports.

To assist you in understanding why the export encountered an issue, you can refer to the CDP Status Code. This status code provides valuable information about the specific cause of the failure. With this knowledge, you can take appropriate action to rectify the issue, if necessary.
